Join Us for the Healthy Relationships Workshop: Prom Edition

Prom season is a time of excitement, celebration, and new beginnings. But as young people prepare for one of the most memorable nights of their high school years, it’s important to also equip them with the knowledge and tools to foster healthy relationships.

On Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM CST, the M. Ariel Love Foundation will host a Healthy Relationships Workshop: Prom Edition at the Sienna Branch Library—just in time for Marshall High School’s Prom!

What to Expect

This engaging and interactive workshop will empower teens with the skills needed to identify healthy versus toxic relationship behaviors. We’ll discuss the warning signs of teen dating violence, the importance of self-respect and boundaries, and how to build supportive, respectful relationships.

Bonus! Snacks will be provided, and two lucky senior girls from Marshall High School will win a full glam makeover for prom, including makeup and hair!

The Reality of Teen Dating Violence

While love and relationships should be safe and uplifting, many young people experience the harsh reality of dating violence. Did you know?

  • 1 in 3 teens in the U.S. will experience physical, emotional, or verbal abuse from a dating partner before they turn 18.

  • Only 33% of teens who experience abuse ever tell someone about it.

  • 1 in 10 high school students has been purposely hit, slapped, or physically hurt by a boyfriend or girlfriend.

  • Teen girls ages 16-24 experience the highest rates of intimate partner violence—almost triple the national average.

These statistics highlight why educating young people about healthy relationships is crucial.

Honoring Maylaysia Ariel Levy

This workshop is held in honor of Maylaysia Ariel Levy, a 2019 graduate of Marshall High School who tragically lost her life in 2020 due to domestic violence. Her story is a heartbreaking reminder of why awareness and prevention are necessary. Through events like this, we continue to honor her memory and advocate for the safety and well-being of young women and men in our community.

Register Today!

We encourage all high school students—especially Marshall High School seniors—to attend this life-changing workshop. Space is limited, so be sure to register today!

Let’s work together to educate, empower, and protect the next generation. We hope to see you there!
