Letter from the Founder

ree

Today marks October 1st and the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It is a time to remember, reflect, and most importantly, to take action.

Just this week, tragedy struck right here in our own community: a deputy was killed in a domestic shooting. When violence finds its way into the homes of even those sworn to protect and serve, we are forced to ask ourselves, if this can happen within the police department, who can we look to protect us? The answer is clear: we must be our own best hope by breaking cycles of abuse and building safer communities together.

I do this work because of my daughter. Her life was stolen in a domestic violence homicide, and it is a pain no parent should ever endure. Out of her loss, I found my purpose to stand against the silence, the shame, and the suffering that too many endure. No one should ever be murdered, beaten, or physically or mentally harmed by someone who once claimed to love them.

I ask you, as you read this, to pause and reflect. Think back over your own life and the lives of your loved ones. Can you recall moments when domestic abuse touched your world? Remember the fear, the silence, the pain. Now imagine what it would mean if that cycle were broken, if our children and grandchildren never had to live through those consequences.

We cannot afford to pass down abuse to the next generation. Instead, we must be part of the solution, equipping them with tools, knowledge, and resources to live free of domestic violence.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I invite you to stand with us. Your support fuels our mission to educate, empower, and protect families. Please consider donating to the M. Ariel Love Foundation and join us at our upcoming community events. Together, we can honor the lives lost, uplift the survivors, and prevent future tragedies.

With hope and determination,

Quin Levy-Flemings
