Guns are the leading weapon in domestic violence homicides, and that tragic reality claimed my daughter’s life. As a survivor, I know the toll it takes on your mind and spirit. This month, I urge you to guard your mental health, choose uplifting environments, and take nothing for granted. Be conscious, be careful, and above all, be kind to yourself and those around you.

Today, justice was served—but not fully. My daughter’s killer was found guilty yet sentenced to only 7 years. The M. Ariel Love Foundation will not stop fighting for stronger laws and real accountability. Maylaysia’s life mattered. Her story fuels our mission to prevent further injustice and protect others from the pain we now carry.
