M. Ariel Love Foundation and its ongoing mission to prevent further injustices and demand progress.

Today, I find myself both rejoicing and deeply deflated. The verdict in my daughter’s family violence homicide case was delivered. Justice, in part, was served—he was found guilty. And yet, the sentence handed down was a mere seven years in TDC. My heart is broken. My spirit, crushed.

Antwon Norman, the man responsible for taking Maylaysia’s life, was allowed to speak—to show remorse, to say anything. He chose silence.

We cannot remain silent in the face of injustice like this.

The M. Ariel Love Foundation was born out of unimaginable loss, but it is a testimony that love, truth, and advocacy are stronger than fear and silence. Our mission is not only to honor the life of Maylaysia Ariel Levy, but to protect and uplift others who are trapped in the cycle of domestic violence. Her story will not be in vain. Through our programs, partnerships, and public advocacy, we work daily to create a safer future and bring light to dark places.

This sentencing makes one thing painfully clear: progress is still needed. A slap on the wrist for a life taken is not justice. We must fight to implement harsher penalties for abusers and educate communities on the warning signs before tragedy strikes. The system must improve, and we are here to ensure it does.

I won’t pretend I’m not tired. I am exhausted. There are moments I want to throw in the towel. But the work is not finished.

Antwon Norman still faces two pending felony charges. We will follow the progress of those cases closely. And we will not stop pressing for accountability and change, not only in the courtroom but also in our communities.

As a mother, I’ve done all I can to fight for my daughter. As the founder of this foundation, I will continue to fight for others. The M. Ariel Love Foundation exists so no family has to stand alone in the aftermath of domestic violence.

Maylaysia, I hope you are proud. I’ve kept my word, and I will continue to fight—not just for you but for every voice that has been silenced. Your story has become a movement. Your name lives on in purpose.

With love and resolve,

Quin Levy-Flemings

Founder, M. Ariel Love Foundation
